Remembering Isabelle – Honoring a Beloved Cat on Izzy Day

Today, our beloved cat community comes together to remember and honor a remarkable member and his beautiful feline companion, Isabelle, affectionately known as Izzy. On this solemn occasion, we reflect on the incredible journey of love and companionship that Brent William Postlethwaite and Isabelle shared with us over the years. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate her life by establishing “Izzy Day” in our community—a day dedicated to remembering all our cherished pets who have crossed the rainbow bridge.

Back in September 3, 2014, a frail and malnourished stray cat arrived at Brent’s doorstep, seeking help. Little did he know that this encounter would change both their lives forever. Brent took her in, giving her the care and love she desperately needed. Gradually, Isabelle transformed from a bedraggled stray into a majestic Queen, finding her forever home and family in Brent.

Since joining our cat community on June 27, 2020, Brent shared numerous heartwarming photos of Isabelle—showcasing her fluffy black fur with touches of white on her belly. We marveled at her beauty, and through Brent’s updates, we’ve seen how the majestic queen Isabelle was spending her new life of privilege and luxury every day.

In May of this year, we received heart-wrenching news about Izzy’s health. A mass had started growing in her neck, and the journey through oncology consultations, treatments, and CT scans began. Despite the efforts, the prognosis remained terminal, and our hearts ached for Brent and Izzy during this difficult time.

As Izzy’s condition worsened, she continued to receive love and care from Brent. Her affectionate nature shone through as she sought comfort and solace in his presence. Brent spared no effort in ensuring her comfort, even as they faced the inevitable. The community rallied behind them, sending good vibes and prayers to support both Brent and Izzy on their journey.

Today, as we bid farewell to our dear Izzy, we find strength in the love and support our community provides. To honor Isabelle’s memory, we have decided to establish “Izzy Day”—a day of remembrance for all our beloved pets who have left us but continue to live on in our hearts. Each year, on this day, we shall share stories, photos, and memories of our lost companions, celebrating the joy they brought into our lives.

In her final days, Isabelle experienced the love and comfort she deserved. With her dad by her side, she knew she was cherished until her last breath. Today, we say goodbye with heavy hearts but with gratitude for the joy she brought into our lives and the love she shared with Brent and our community.

Let us remember Isabelle—our feline Queen who touched our hearts with her resilience, love, and beauty. As we embark on this new tradition of Izzy Day, let it be a testament to the enduring bond between humans and their beloved pets. We extend our deepest condolences to Brent William Postlethwaite, thanking him for sharing Izzy’s journey with us and being a cherished member of our community.

Rest in peace, dear Isabelle. You have crossed the rainbow bridge, but your memory will forever reside in our hearts.
