Woman That Loves Sewing And Cats Creates Functional Pincushions With Purrsonality And Humor
Kathleen Schmid is a woman who loves sewing. She got bored with the traditional tomato pincushion, she felt the need to see something a bit better than just a red tomato on her table, so she decided to create pincushions that look like her favourite animals, cats.
She tries to incorporate personality and humor into each and every character that she creates and she loves coming up with new ideas or characters. “Because, if you can’t enjoy yourself while you’re sewing, what’s the fun in that?” says Kathleen.
These lovely pincushions can be deceptively challenging making, there’s a lot of hand sewing involved, so depending on the design, one pincushion can take up to 4 hours to complete. “But I believe that it’s all worth it in the end!” Kathleen says.
